Privacy Policy
Effective date: July 29, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains what information the Imposter Party mobile app ("the app", "we") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Imposter Party is a pass-the-phone party game: it has no accounts, no sign-in, and no game-content server, and gameplay works fully offline.
What stays on your device
Everything the game needs to run is stored only on your device: game settings, player names you enter, saved player lists, custom categories, and your premium status cache. Player names and custom-category words are never uploaded anywhere — they exist solely on the phone you play on and are deleted when you delete the app.
What we collect
We collect a limited set of usage analytics so we can understand whether the game works well (for example: a round was started, a round was completed, a paywall was shown, a purchase completed). These events are identified by a random device-scoped identifier — not your name, email, or phone number, none of which we ever ask for. Events collected while you are offline are stored on-device and uploaded when a connection is available.
- PostHog (PostHog Inc.) processes these usage events for product analytics on our behalf.
- Meta App Events (Meta Platforms, Inc.) receives similar events for install and advertising attribution, so we can tell whether our ads work. On iOS this only occurs if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, advertising attribution stays off.
- RevenueCat (RevenueCat, Inc.) processes purchase and subscription state so premium unlocks work and can be restored. Payment itself is handled by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
What we do not collect
- No names, email addresses, or phone numbers — the app has no accounts.
- No contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or location — the app never requests these permissions.
- No content of your games: secret words shown, typed Question Game answers, and votes are never transmitted.
Purchases
Premium is offered as an auto-renewing monthly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, processed by the App Store or Google Play. RevenueCat receives purchase receipts and a device-scoped identifier to maintain your entitlement across app restarts and restores. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
Children
Imposter Party is a family-friendly game (rated 4+). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — analytics are device-scoped usage events, not personal profiles. A parent or guardian who has questions can contact us at the address below.
Data retention and deletion
On-device data is under your control and removed by deleting the app. Analytics events are retained by our processors under their standard retention policies and are not linked to your identity. To ask about or request deletion of analytics tied to your device identifier, contact us and we will pass the request to our processors.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to the processing of data about you. Because we hold no account data, most requests concern the device-scoped analytics described above — contact us and we will help.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the effective date. Material changes will be noted in the app's release notes.
